Thanksgiving Sales 2011 – Thanksgiving Day Sales 2011

Thanksgiving sales 2011 got their start on that very Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving has traditionally been for Americans one of the most significant holidays along with Christmas when the families enjoy some days  off together at home celebrating Thanksgiving Day, having a good time at traditional holiday dishes and meals, watching TV or spending time outdoor. But in the last years the Thanksgiving Day that falls on the last Thursday of November (which is November 24th this year)  has also become the day when some big store chains kick off their earlier after-Thanksgiving sales which is in fact taking off the official status of The day when Thanksgiving sales start from Black Friday (which is November 25th this year).

With the today’s economy situation, in the attempt to attract more customers to their sales many department stores along with other retailers have decided to break a long standing taboo about having stores open on Thanksgiving Day and do not wait until Black Friday.  While admittedly some department stores such as Walmart, Sears or Kmart have been open for years, this year many other retailers such as Kohls, Macys, ToysRus, Target, Gap or Old Navy have decided to open right on the holiday, Thursday 24th.

If  you want to begin your holiday shopping earlier than usual and spend some time in-stores on Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday 2011, you can find more information on Thanksgiving stores’ open hours here.
